Rise, shine and get ready to enjoy another staff
prepared breakfast! What great cooks
they are as well as our wagon masters and tail gunners! Thanks staff!
It was also time to say farewell to 2 of our rigs who
closed their chapter on this trip and are going elsewhere. One couple left the day before but the other
couple was there and they received “Moe” (and the upgrades gained as he/she has
been passed around!) for their good deed of feeding the entire caravan from
Lick-A-Chick before they departed! What a great time we had.
One of our members had his new T shirt on that he got
in Cape Breton, but we all wondered if that is what he REALLY was showing off!
After breakfast it was do the last minute things to
prepare for our overnight ferry ride to Newfoundland, make sure the
refrigerators are cooled down, shut down, propane tanks, and all that goes with
leaving your rig parked in the bottom of the ferry while you have a sleeping
room up top and can’t return to your rigs until the next morning! Of course, when all that was ready and we
couldn’t get back in our refrigerators since we wanted them to stay as cold as
possible, we had to have lunch so off to the “Winnie’s Wagon” which is right
there in the RV park for a hamburger or fish and chips. Food once again!
We are all hooked up and waiting for line up time at 2:00
PM to follow down to the ferry staging area and wait for our turn to board.
It was very warm and a long wait but at least one of
our people took that opportunity to set up his small table and a chair out in
the sun and proceed to crack and eat his lobster! He enjoyed every minute and savored every bite!
Then our ferry got there and on we went, parked our rigs, and headed upstairs where many gathered in the lounge area until time to have a buffet dinner!
Just in case you haven’t noticed, food seems to be the
center of most everything we do! Many of
us laugh and say that our souvenirs on this trip are mostly food! The ride ended up being about 16 hours! What a great group we have to travel with and
wonderful, knowledgeable, understanding, helpful staff members!!
