Day 33 - free day in St. John's, Newfoundland

Today was a beautiful, sunny day.  That makes up for the RDF (Newfie for rain, drizzle, fog) that we had for yesterday’s bus trip.  It was a FREE day so we decided to re-explore some of the sights from yesterday.

We began our day by returning to Signal Hill to see the Tattoo.  The Tattoo is a re-enactment of 19th Century military exercises with period costumes, guns and cannon fire.

Our next stop was the Railway Coastal Museum.  It tells the story of the building of the Newfoundland Railway and Coastal Services.

Onward to Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America.  What a difference a day makes!  There really is a lighthouse under all that fog.  In fact, there are two; the oldest lighthouse in the province and a newer, modern one.

Our day ended with a Mexican Party hosted and prepared by our wonderful Wagon Masters and Tail Gunners.  The food was so delicious, that nothing was left except the empty serving dishes.
