Magnus,
my 165 pound Irish Wolfhound and I woke at dawn to a quiet park after a day of
country and western music and the Dixie Chicks who headlined at the Cavendish
Beach Music Festival next door. What a
wonderful KOA and great opportunity to hear the music festival at our rig
sites. Most of the park guests reserve a
space yearly for the festival. We were
privileged to be here.
Breakfast
was provided by our Adventure staff, Terry and Madi, who are undoubtedly the
two best cooks on the Adventure staff.
After being treated to homemade muffins and a sausage and egg casserole,
I, as well as other Adventure caravaners, headed out to Summerville for the
College of Piping. They have a student
population of about 500, all studying Celtic Dance, the Bagpipes or the Snare
Drum. For a half hour, students and
instructors discussed the origins of their music and describe the instruments
and the way they are played.
Later
that afternoon Mercedes Wilson and I drove to Charlottetown, along with others,
to have a leisurely dinner in the theater district before going to see the
musical, Anne of Green Gables.
The
musical was professionally done and enjoyable for all. We returned back to the Campground after the
show and were met by a coyote serenade, which PEI apparently has in abundance.
