The day
dawned with the sun shining breathtakingly upon the St. Lawrence Bay.
First we
wake up, then we get up, then we catch up
then we hook up
and then it’s bon voyage or happy
trails
This is the
day 48 years ago our middle child, a girl, Sarah, was born. Everybody think “Happy Birthday” thoughts for
her, please.
Travel day, what to say?
Be sure to keep your eyes open all
the way
For you will see
The sky above as blue as can be
The homes with gardens galore
The water shades of blue and not a
bore
The road ahead with its curves and
hills
Promises an adventure and even
thrills
Towns all along the way
With homes of very style, color and
size
Where like us people stay
A-frames, cottages, ranch and more
Each with a porch at its door
The architecture is creative and
clever
But built to withstand the weather
Our travel log says go left, go right
Be careful don’t go straight
A lighthouse to the left
Standing red and white in the morning
sun
And the churches with steeples
Standing straight and tall
Point to the one who loves us all
Today was a day of beauty in the
weather as well as the scenery
Bay Bridge we crossed
People at recreation
And we finished the day with food and
friends!
